Description: Book here for test, with external assessor, mounted, will take around 1 - 1.5hours. You must have prepared for the test, by attending two training sessions. In recent years non-Equestrian public have started asking questions with regard to the welfare of our horses and ponies and riders. Some may consider the use of whips and spurs as cruel so it is important that the Pony Club take the lead by continuing to educate and train their riders on how to use all equipment. The Spurs Test has been introduced to help educate members and parents alike into understanding how and why spurs are used. Why are you wearing spurs? Why do you choose to wear spurs? Do you need them? Does your horse (really) need them? What effect do your spurs have – positive and negative. If choosing to wear spurs what bit does your horse wear? The Spurs test is both theoretical and practical and the rider should demonstrate knowledge and the ability to use spurs with a still and stable lower leg.
Entry fee: £20.00
